Directions:
NOTE: Some Google maps show that the Downeast Rover is located at 112 Musket Lane, Manteo, NC, 27954. THIS INFORMATION IS INCORRECT. The Downeast Rover is actually located at the Manteo Waterfront Marina next to Poor Richard’s Sandwich Shop, Manteo, NC on Roanoke Island. Look for our green hull and red sails.
1. From the Outer Banks take NC 158 (the main north-south road) to Nags Head, MP 16.5. Go west on HWY 64/264 over the Washington Baum Bridge and onto Roanoke Island. Get in the far right lane and follow the signs to Manteo by turning right after the CVS drugstore. Drive about 1.5 miles and turn right onto Budleigh Street. Follow Budleigh Street all the way to the water and into the parking lot bordering the dock. The Rover boards on the dock between The Tranquil House Inn and Poor Richard’s Sandwich Shop (See anchor on map below).
2. For Google Map directions from your current location, click on the anchor icon on the map below and then select the arrow icon (“Directions from here.”) The map is zoom-able.
Parking:
Free parking is available in the small lot bordering the Manteo dock at the end of Budleigh Street and in the lot at the south end of Queen Elizabeth Ave. Free parking is also available along the street or in Festival Park where the Elizabeth II reproduction ship is docked. To enter Festival Park, turn left at the east end of Budleigh Street and then turn right just past the Tranquil House Inn. You will cross a small bridge decorated with flags. Park and walk back to the dock next to Poor Richard’s Sandwich Shop. Look for our green hull and red sails.
